This position is sited within the secure perimeter of a state correctional facility and requires daily contact with and supervision of prisoners. The Aide receives general supervision works within established methods, policies, procedures, and oral instructions and uses independent judgment to select a proper course of action. This position is responsible for creating and collecting data for the prisoners' education records. The Aid will assist in the coordination, administration and interpretation of academic/vocational tests. The Teacher Aide is responsible for assisting in gathering educational information on prisoners at their intake into the prison system.
